- A sun hat in Term 1 and 4.
- A coat in Winter.
- All items brought to the Kinder must have your child‟s name on it.
SNACK TIME
Each session, the children have a set time to have morning/afternoon tea. To do this, we ask your child to bring a bag or lunch box, that they can manage them-selves, containing a healthy snack.
Children in the 3 year old groups need to bring fruit/vegetables and/or cheese only. If Children need to bring their own drink in a bottle, please provide water only.
Children in the 4 year old groups need to bring a healthy snack, which may include a sandwich, cracker biscuits with filling, fruit or vegetables, muffins etc. If Children need to bring their own drink in a bottle, please provide water only.
JELLY CAPS are a banned item.
Definitely no lollies, cakes, donuts, chocolate coatings, chips, rollups, etc
We are a NUT FREE kinder which means NO nut products such as peanut butter, peanut butter dippers, hazelnut spreads, products containing traces of nut. This is important due to the severe allergic reactions of some children to traces of nuts (especially peanuts).
BIRTHDAYS
Birthdays are special days and we like to celebrate them with the children. If your child has a birthday on a day that he/she is not at Kinder, we will celebrate it on a day nearest to it. Parents might like to bring along a cake or small party cakes, fairy bread or other suitable food.
No cream cakes please No lollypops No lollies No drinks
It is not an opportunity to have a big party.
CLOTHING
Please give some thought to suitable clothing. As the children participate in a vari-ety of outdoor activities, long dresses and thongs are not suitable. Remember to dress children in clothes that can stand up to some wear and tear and those which can be easily managed to go to the toilet.
On hot summer days, children will need a hat and have sunscreen applied. In win-ter, please make sure your child brings a coat along.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD'S CLOTHES AND BELONGINGS ARE CLEARLY NAMED
SPECIAL TALENTS/SKILLS
If parents have any special skills are talents we would love you to share them with us (e.g. are you a Policeman, Nurse, Fireman etc.). Do you play a musical instru-ment? Would you like to share a craft experience, (e.g. spinning, cookery, pottery) or any kind of activity.
Please try to involve yourself as much as possible, as your involvement and interest helps your child to have a successful year at kindergarten and sets up a positive attitude which will carry on into school.
PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT
You are encouraged to take an interest in your child's year at Kindergarten.
Everyone is invited to participate as a parent helper 2 to 3 times a term. Staff relies on these extra people to assist with the running of the program. It is important to have those extra eyes and extra hands as the children are so young. They may need help doing activities, going to the toilet, washing hands or managing their snacks.
It is important to your child to be able to share his/her learning experiences with you. Helpers are needed to set up at snack time and to clean up afterwards.
A roster is put up on the notice board for parents to fill in. If you are unable to attend, please swap with another parent. There is also a roster for washing a small number of smocks and towels. Each family should only need to do this once or twice in the year.
If a parent is in attendance at the Kindergarten, and has a toddler or baby with them, they are responsible for that child at all times.
Please note that children are not permitted in the Office or the Kitchen.
